Sandy Lake Wesleyan men working alongside Haitians to build a wall

Ecole Chretien Gpaul

PROGRESS UPDATE

This past fall, a team from Sandy Lake Wesleyan Church in the Western Pennsylvania District assisted Carefourre Feuille with the reconstruction of a retaining wall around the school (Ecole Chretien Gpaul). Having this wall safely rebuilt was a huge relief for members of the Haitian church who still remember the children who died when it collapsed last January. The Sandy Lake Wesleyan team, which had held a Vacation Bible School in that school just a few years ago, was very grateful to assist the church in this way.

The remainder of Ecole Chretien Gpaul still lies in ruin but will be rebuilt by Compassion International. Compassion International, which has projects at several Wesleyan Schools across the country, has been working hard to repair those that were damaged in the events of last January but will not be ready to work at this site for some time. Currently, students at Ecole Chretien Gpaul are attending classes in temporary buildings which are covering the future construction site.

RECOMMENDATIONS/NOTES

This school is run by the Carrefour Feuilles church.

The lot is terraced up from the alley, lending itself to surface runoff issues. The buildings are all in need of removal.
