Carrefour Feuilles

PROGRESS UPDATE

Carefourre Feuille Wesleyan Church, the largest Wesleyan Church in the country was completely destroyed by the earthquake. Members of the congregation, however, began work on the church and were able to tear down the unusable upper stories of the church. With some funding from Global Partners, church members have laid a tin roof on the existing first story columns, and the church continues to worship each Sunday in this space.

Because of the size and complexity of rebuilding in this site, Carefourre Feuille Wesleyan needs skilled engineers to assist them in constructing a more permanent structure. In addition they are looking for further partnership to fund their rebuilding efforts. An estimated $200,000 is needed to complete repairs.

This church is also in need of a new parsonage. $5000 has already been invested in a clean-up and partial parsonage-rebuild on this site; however, design and engineer plans are still needed. The urgency of this project has become more apparent since, unlike the previous pastor, the newly appointed pastor does not own his own home.

RECOMMENDATIONS/NOTES

This is the parsonage for the Carrefour Feuilles Church.

The front building appears to be in good shape. The two story rear building is badly damaged and very dangerous. The two buildings are connected by a concrete breezeway. The back building should be removed. The perimeter walls are intact.
