On September 28, 2013, we celebrated the momentous occasion of the completion of the new La Gonave Wesleyan Hospital. We were left with eager anticipation of the arrival of the container full of supplies and equipment necessary to completely transition operations into the new facility. We are happy to announce the container has arrived and cleared customs in just several days. It is now being transported to the wharf at Ortlip for travel across the sea into its final destination at the hospital.
We are so thankful for this early Christmas present as we were not expecting it so soon!
Thank you to Deb Griffin, Medshare and Shawn Swan for their efforts in collecting items and sending the container off stateside. Thank you to Food for the Poor for receiving the container here in Haiti. Lastly, but not least, thank you to The Reed Family Foundation for their generosity in funding the shipment of this vital equipment and to Kimberly Alexander for facilitating their support.
We have so many things to be thankful for this holiday season and we wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
